What Do Cass County Democrats Stand For?

The Cass County Democrats pride ourselves on having a clear vision for our community, our area, our state, and our country. We believe that everyone in our community should have equal access to the ballot box, to quality, accessible health care, to quality public education from pre-k through career tech and community college, to adequate financial resources to support themselves and their families, and to clean air, water, and land.

What Do Cass County Democrats Do?

To these ends, we work to support local, regional, state, and national candidates that best match our vision. We bring as many as possible to our area so that you can talk to them and judge for yourself, and we endorse candidates that will work to make our vision a reality at all levels. We want to give everyone an opportunity to make their own informed choice about who to support and vote for.

How Can You Help?

Many hands make light work, they say. We welcome all like-minded people and will find a way for you to feel useful and included. There are plenty of jobs, large and small, that could use your personal touch. We especially need all hands on deck during this coming election season! Some larger jobs include helping at polling places as a Poll Watcher or a Poll Challenger, canvassing for candidates, and helping organize events. You can help in small ways, too. We make buttons to give out at events, so if you feel crafty, you can help with that project. We have phone calling and post-card writing initiatives that are perfect ways for community members to get involved with flexible amounts of effort.
Best of all, come to our Saturday Donuts with Democrats events (Saturday mornings 10:00-12:00 PM at the office in Dowagiac, 204 S. Front Street) for great conversation with like-minded friends. It’s very informal, so come and get to know us! You’ll hear all about what your neighbors are thinking, meet people from all over the county, hear the latest about issues and get info about the happenings at the local, state, and federal level. I promise there will be some sweet treats, and informative discussions. It’s a great start to “DOING something” about the current state of the world. See you on Saturday!
